our talented family

A few weeks ago our ward (congregation at church) had a talent show. Addie sang "Let's Go Fly a Kite" from Mary Poppins and did a wonderful job! And we, like the fabulous parents we are, completely forgot to bring our camera. She was so cute and proud of herself afterwards, I can't wait to see her take in my musical-loving, singing-all-day, footsteps!

Jason and I and some friends of ours did this crazy skit. It was so fun! We're sitting on our husband's laps while they play our hands. I wish I knew how to implant the video right onto our blog, but here is the link to watch it from their blog! Enjoy!

this is exactly how I feel

"I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbors children. I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden. I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived." — Marjorie Pay Hinckley

Easter

coloring and dying the eggs--Addie loved it!

Macie is such a happy girl, this is what she did during our egg-dying session.

Mmmm...at least the dye that got all over her mouth and shirt seemed to match her outfit!

Our Easter was pretty typical. Big guy in a white bunny suit (kinda scary), Easter egg hunt, and dying eggs (the most important of all Easter activities). Our family Easter tradition used to be to wake up early and watch the sunrise (see the symbolism?), read the story of the resurrection from the scriptures, and then come home and have a big breakfast. Since having kids, Jason and I can only manage the breakfast! This year our pancakes with strawberries and whipped cream were delish. Afterwards, General Conference finished the day off perfectly. Ah, I love just simply spending time with my wonderful husband and two adorable little girls.
